Door Glass Replacement
Door glass is the window that rolls up and down in your door, and it is the one we replace most. It is usually made of tempered glass, which is why it shatters into a thousand little pieces instead of cracking. Break-ins, accidents, stray rocks, it does not take much. We remove the door panel, clean out the broken glass, set the new window in the track, and make sure it rolls up and down like it should before we leave.
Back Glass Replacement
Your back glass usually has defroster lines built in, and on SUVs and hatches it may have a wiper mounted to it too. We replace the glass and make sure the defroster connections are hooked back up so you are not scraping the inside of your window come winter.
Quarter Glass & Vent Glass
Quarter glass is the small fixed window toward the back of the vehicle, and vent glass is the little one up front by the mirror. Small windows, favorite target for break-ins, because they are cheap to smash and quick to reach through. We replace both.

Will you get all the broken glass out?
We vacuum out the door, the seats, and the carpet as part of every job, and we get the overwhelming majority of it. Honest answer though: we are a glass shop, not a detail shop, and tempered glass is sneaky. Do not be surprised if a stray piece works its way out of a crevice weeks later. Everybody who has had a window smashed knows exactly what we mean.
Do you use OEM or aftermarket glass?
For door, back, and quarter glass, we normally install quality aftermarket glass because it fits properly, works correctly, and keeps the repair reasonably priced. Auto Glass Works generally prefers OEM when it is practical, and if an OEM option is available and you want it, we can price it before anything is ordered.
Do you replace car windows?
Yes. “Car window replacement” covers the side and rear glass discussed on this page. The glass in your door is called door glass, the large rear window is back glass, and the smaller fixed windows are quarter or vent glass. It depends on your policy. If you carry comprehensive coverage, glass damage from break-ins, vandalism, or road debris may be covered, subject to your deductible. We cannot guarantee what your policy includes, but we can help you understand the claim process and the questions to ask.
Can I drive with a broken window?
A broken window leaves your interior open to weather, theft, and more damage, and loose glass inside the door can tear up the regulator. Cover the opening if you have to drive, do not run the damaged window up and down, and get it replaced as soon as you can. That is what next-day service is for.
